A brown leaf quivered stuck between two rocks. Strayflight released a stream of air, sending it into the air, it rustled trying to reach the ground. Sending a spout of fire that way, she incinerated it. She was laying on her side, her wings neatly folded into her body. Just resting there in the early morning hours. She was so bored! there didn't seem to be anything to do here. With a sigh she turned her head, getting a better look at the rest of the fledgelings. They were on the other side of the cave, far away from where she happened to be. Strayflight didn't really care though, she liked being alone.
She could hear the soft whisper of dragon voices across the cave, and closed her eyes, trying to block out the quiet murmur. Of course it was to no avail. With a heavy outward sigh she rose up, traveling on all fours to the entrance of the fledgeling cave. She looked back, wondering if anyone would notice if she left. She thrust her snout into the air, catching the scents carried on the breeze.

Branch of Broken Willow, milky white scales glistening with tiny ice crystals and blue eyes sparkling with rage and agony, landed gingerly on the ledge outside of the main Caverns. Claws heavy as if weighed down, the female dragon slowly approached the center of the vast caves. Before reaching the place where Broken Crystal had always addressed the group, the dragoness turned away and headed towards the fledglings cave. "Stay inside little one." A whisper to the little form at the entrance. Before she had never really cared about the younger dragons, and she hoped that maybe there was a chance that the fledglings wouldn't notice her sudden mood swing towards them.

Dejectedly Strayflight crawled back away from the entrance. But looked back at Willow, wondering why she was worrying about the fledglings. She rustled her wings uncomfortably. Her talons clicking on the stone, she turned back around. She could see that Branch of Broken Willow seemed a little unsettled. " Is everything okay?" she piped up.

Willow sighed, entering the cave. "An evil is at hand. There is a dragon many times the size of the biggest dragon anyone has ever seen. It has killed the Master, Blazing Crystal, and now feasts on his flesh. You and the other fledglings must remain in the Caverns, unless escorted by swift flyers or a few battlers." She said, lowering the long topaz colored neck down so as to be eye level with the younger dragon. "It is not safe."

Strayflight gasped silently at this horrible news. A dragon bigger than any ever seen before! it must be frightful indeed. she mused. She felt her body start quivering as Willow went on. She was careful not to let her fear show though. This was horrible, the master had been killed. This of course meant that Willow was now leader.
Strayflight nodded her understanding. " of course" she said. well I guess this means nothing exciting for a long while she sighed and escorts ugh! But she grinned kindly at Willow and managed a quiet " I understand"

Willow smiled, adoring how the fledgling attempted to hide the fear, although it was still visible behind her eyes, and how she said she understood. "Maybe you do, maybe you don't. I know you fledglings, since I was once one myself, always getting into trouble. Just stay alive, please." Said the elder dragon, turning as if to leave. A long slithering tail glided over the ground, scales clinking, and as it passed the fledgling it gently tapped against the young dragon before laying still again as if nothing had happened.

" okay" she said. After all Strayflight didn't have a death wish. She was almost an adult after all. Others tended to forget that a lot though. Willow turned to leave, and as her tail snaked past it tapped her gently. Strayflight tilted her head, fluffing her wings.

Willow shivered slightly, producing a rattle that filled the cave before dying down until only the whistle of the wind was heard. Tiny ice crystals cascaded off of the light tan scales, producing a melody of tinkling to accompany the clinking of scales as they rose slightly from they usual platted position. One more flash of blue eye, one more smile of white teeth, and the new master of AirGroup was gone from the entrance.
