The biggest lava flow in FireGroup territory is known as Lava River. Fledgling collectors are taught to search for minerals along the river. The river starts at the Magma Pool, and ends on AirGroups Plateau.

The source of the Lava River, the Magma Pool bubbles up from no one knows exactly where. It is large and there is a small island of obsidian in the middle. Fledglings sometimes dare each other to fly accros the fiery magma and reach the island.

The Steam Field is a large flat piece of land at the base of the volcano with many holes in it. Every so often the holes will 'erupt' with steam and smoke. A tunnel leads under the field to a hot underground lake. Fledglings are taught to swim here.
